Step 4

Use the R.E.S.I.S.T. Framework created by Claudia Crawley, designed to offer practical steps to actively challenge racism.

  • (R)ecognize and acknowledge that racism exists, even within ourselves.
  • (E)ducate yourself and others about racism.
  • (S)upport and amplify voices from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
  • (I)nterrupt racist behavior when you see it, including your own if you're called out.
  • (S)pot who is sitting in positions of power/decision-making. Who might be missing there? What needs to be done?
  • (T)alk about racism with friends, family, and co-workers to normalize discussions about anti-racism. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Step 5

Become an Anti-Racist Champion

An Anti-Racism champion is a person who uplifts Anti Racism values and practices in their everyday work and spaces, ensuring the Anti Racism work is carried on in their workplace. They identify areas of opportunity regarding Anti Racism and propose possible solutions and action points with the help of their team, managers and other champions.

Impact

The impact of the AR Champions goes beyond attending meetings and advocating for Anti Racism work: having people and colleagues actively committed to learn, unlearn and socialize the work and values is crucial in becoming an Anti-Racist organization – a commitment MSF has made.

Meetings

To be schedule with the rest of Champions – as this is a worldwide movement we understand the different time zones can be a challenge. You will receive the invitation with enough time to plan around it.

You as a champion

As an AR Champion you will be expected to uphold Anti Racism values and practices on your daily work, as well as commit to your Anti Racist journey. We as the AR TIC team commit to helping you as best we can.
